The home of some of the top sporting teams in America, the sporting enthusiast will find plenty with which to keep occupied. Each year in March, Cactus League Spring Training Baseball is available within a 30-40 minute drive. Check out your favorite teams and players up close!
The Chicago Cubs and White Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland A's, Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Texas Rangers, Kansas City Royals, Colorado Rockies, and Arizona Diamondbacks all train in Arizona.
Phoenix supports many excellent shopping malls, and all the big name stores are located in the East Valley. Supermarkets and a Walmart Supercenter are within 5-10 minutes.
Golf courses of all ratings are available for play. You can go mule or horse back riding, panning for gold, or hiking in the mysterious Superstition Mountains, where legend has it that the Lost Dutchman treasure still lies undiscovered. Excellent boating is available on nearby Apache, Canyon, and Roosevelt Lakes.
Apache Junction and Mesa boast many popular cafes and restaurants. The Arizona Opry and local old mining towns are popular diversions. Craft shops and swap meets are also popular. Turf Paradise Race Course and dog tracks provide heart stopping excitement, and there are several local casinos with great food and exciting casino gambling.
A new hospital is in nearby Gold Canyon, and Southern and Crismon, also the world famous Mayo clinic is also within an hour of our Parks. Many churches are available for most denominations.
